Here is what kept me from blogging

Here is a picture of the quilt I made for Kat & Scott's baby last November. Of course, the baby isn't due until April, but there is nothing like being ready. Don't look too close at the seams, they don't match up too well. This is only the second quilt I've ever made. I still have to take a picture of my first quilt, but I will soon! I love making quilts that don't have to be perfect. A county fair contender I will never be. However, I will be warm!

My next goal is to make a queen-sized one for our bed to keep us warm. With the high price of electricity and propane, it is much easier to just put on extra blankets. Okay, don't ask how much I have spent on fabric. At least I found the great deals at Joann's for clearance fabrics. I was inspired by the quilts I saw in NYC in 2003 when I visited Melinda & David. The quilts on display were made from any material the women had--old jeans, flour sacks, old cloths, any other fabric available. The quilts were beautiful, just not "perfect". That is how I like to quilt. Stay tuned for more exciting quilt pictures. And if you have a momentous event in your life happening soon, I just might be able to get a quilt together for you!
