We drove up to 6,288 ft., but we did hike a bit!

Mt. Washington doesn't look so imposing here Posted by Picasa

Yet again, I got to drive the 8 mile road up to the Mount Washington Observatory. We were lucky weather-wise and had a great trip to Mount Washington!

It was beautiful when we got to the top. The hike down to the Lakes of the Clouds wasn't bad. There was only a little bit of rain on our way back up. We got our samples and life was great. We even got to go on a tour of the observatory. I now have a goal--to be finished with my degree by December so I can go up to the observatory for a week to cook for the crew. It would be a week of volunteering, but what better place could there be than an observatory on the TOP of Mt. Washington in the winter? What is so bad about having the "Worst Weather in the World"? I will let you know in January!
